About Us

As three Juniors at Lasell University in Newton, MA, travel—whether internationally or domestically— has been something on all of our minds since before we all met one another during the first few weeks of Freshman year. In fall of 2019, the three of us each embarked on a journey of our own, far from home. To record our findings and things that we want to pass on to others that are looking into doing similar things, we created this blog. In it, we will discuss such topics as culture, time and money management, and how to get the most out of any study abroad experience. Our greatest hope is that this blog will help to answer some questions by perspective study abroad and domestic study students and perhaps persuade them to take a leap and do something completely outside their comfort zone.

Bon voyage!

About Aine

Ever since I was little, I have wanted to travel the world. My godfather would often go on trips to places like Italy and Egypt and come back bringing tales of adventure which I envied fiercely. Yet, for 20 years of my life, I never once left the country. That is, until my Junior year of college at Lasell University when I finally got the chance to go abroad—and what better way than through study abroad?

In August of 2019, I departed Boston and headed for London. After a short excursion to Italy, I settled myself into my new home and new school in London, England. The time that I spent in London is one of the most fondly looked back upon times in my life. Through travel, experience, socializing, and even classes, I was able to get the experience of a lifetime that I would not give back for the world.

About Gabby

Ever since my first trip to Disney World when I was seven years old, I knew that I wanted to work for Disney. I learned about the college program at a young age and counted down the years until I would be able to participate. Disney has always felt like an entirely different world to me, and the feeling of magic that is spread throughout the parks brings me happiness that is incomparable to any other place in the world.

As an only child, I have a small immediate family that I am extremely close to, and I was lucky to have the opportunity to visit Disney World so many times during my childhood because of them. Even if I am there alone, Disney reminds me of my family and it has become a second home for us. Having the opportunity to work there was a dream come true, and being able to witness the magic that was made for children, like it used to be made for me, was one of the greatest opportunities of my life.

About Abby

Hi, I'm Abby! My first trip to Europe was in high school. I went to London and The Netherlands with an organization I volunteer for and have wanted to go back ever since. I knew studying abroad would be the perfect opportunity. I chose to study abroad in Florence, Italy, whose culture combined my love of fashion, food, and art. I had the opportunity to immerse myself in Florentine culture with my classes that utilized the unique opportunity for experiential learning and my apartment home in the heart of the Oltrarno. I also had the opportunity to travel to seven countries. Overall, studying abroad was incredible and I'm so excited to share more about my experience in the blog!
